Which keyboard layout does it use?
The standard Arabic (101) layout, with the letters on the same physical keys as a US English QWERTY keyboard.
Why do commas and periods turn into letters?
On the Arabic layout the comma key types و and the period key types ز, so punctuation typed with the wrong language becomes those letters. Turn off “Convert punctuation keys” to keep them unchanged.
